Hans E Berg, is the founder and co-owner of Flywheelone, that was formed in 2021, and also the inventor of the original FWED resulting in its first International Patent 1993.  He also at the time co-founded and co-owned YoYo Technology AB (1989-) together with prof PA Tesch. The company had a subcontract/licence cooperation with OHB Gmbh, Bremen, that resulted in the FWED flown on ISS 2009 through a ESA contract.

The company manufactured all FWEDs used in ESA and NASA bedrest campaigns for simulated microgravity. Flywheel exercise has been described in more than 300 scientific papers 1994-2024, and is now an established exercise technology in athletics and rehab training.
